They Can Last a Lifetime

Implants are the only tooth replacement that has the potential to last for the rest of your life. As long as you treat them like natural teeth — meaning that you brush and floss them regularly to keep your gums healthy — they should be with you for decades to come. Our doctors at PCE's careful screening process ensures that we only place implants in situations that are healthy enough to support them.

Dental Implants Maintain Natural Tooth Spacing

Tooth loss is a huge cause of crowded and crooked teeth. Just like books on a shelf, taking one off creates space where the others can tilt or lean. This shifting spans across the entire bite, not just the teeth immediately next to your missing ones. In fact, opposing teeth may even “super erupt” looking for a biting partner.

Fortunately, dental implants can fill in the open space so that no alignment issues develop. The implant crown or bridge will be fitted specifically to that area of your mouth, so the teeth around it have no tendency to start drifting out of place. They key is to replace your tooth as soon as possible!

Implants are Non-Invasive to Other Teeth

With other types of tooth replacement treatments, the healthy teeth next to the missing ones may need to be altered. That is, it’s often necessary to reduce the thickness of their enamel so that a crown (as part of the bridge) can slip over them. Although functional, this less-than-ideal approach to tooth replacement can weaken your smile.

Implants are the only type of tooth replacement that doesn’t rely on any type of stability from your neighboring teeth (aside from a full denture, which rests directly on top of your gums.) So, if you have several teeth that are healthy, we can install an implant next to them without any negative outcome.

There are No Removable Prosthetics

If you’re used to wearing a partial denture, you know how important it is to take your prosthesis out at night. Wearing it while you sleep can lead to problems like gum infections (such as thrush) and changes in your bone anatomy.

But when you get dental implants, there aren’t removable crowns, bridges, or hybrid dentures to remove. Everything is permanently attached to the artificial “roots”, making your smile as durable and natural as possible. Our Conroe dental implant specialists understands just how much of an impact it will have on your day to day life!
